Retiring Entain's Barry Gibson Named Stella David's Next President
Gibson mentioned his resignation, saying he felt privileged to serve on the board of Entain for four years. Entain, the global betting and gaming giant, will undergo another internal shakeup, with its chairman Barry Gibson announcing his decision to step down from the board. He will be succeeded by the company's interim CEO, Stella David.
Gibson will step down by September 2024, according to the announcement. If Entain succeeds in finding a suitable permanent CEO earlier, the chairman could leave much earlier, Entain noted. The company added that finding a permanent CEO was "ongoing and well underway."
Entain noted that Gibson was appointed to the board in November 2019 and became chairman in February 2020. While he was in that position, the outgoing chairman played a key role in the company's transformation from GVC to Entain.
In his position, Gibson oversaw the renewal of Entain's board, its re-focus on regulatory or regulatory markets, and its recent HMRC investigation into the group's legacy operations in Turkiye. He was also instrumental in the company's expansion, overseeing EBITDA growth at £1bn in 2023. 슬롯사이트 추천
David, on the other hand, was a non-executive director and senior independent director who joined the board in 2021. She has served as interim CEO since December 2023. David's previous experiences include board members of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, Bakadi and C&J Clark, View International, Homeserve, Nationwide Building Society and Domino's Pizza Group. She also served as CEO of William Grant & Sons.
